Auf die Besucher*innen warten die Bilder der Fotogruppe aus den letzten eineinhalb Jahren. Unter den ausgestellten Werken sind Bilder aus der Portraitreihe mit Bewohner*innen der Wohngenossenschaft Spreefeld und der angegliederten Teepee Land Community. Zwei von diesen Bildern wurden bereits an den äußeren Hauswänden der Bau- und Wohngenossenschaft Spreefeld plakatiert.
Die Pinel-Fotogruppe arbeitet unter der Anleitung von Sibylle Baier und Nick Grossmann seit eineinhalb Jahren im genossenschaftlichen Wohnprojekt Spreefeld. „An diesem Ort in der Mitte Berlins verbinden wir die sozialpsychiatrische Arbeit der Pinel gGmbH mit der künstlerischen analogen SW-Fotografie“, erklärt Nick Großmann. „Bei der Portraitreihe dienten die individuellen Besonderheiten als inszenatorische Grundidee, die mit einer 4×5‘‘ Inch Großformatkamera umgesetzt wurden“, führt Großmann aus. „Inklusion findet hier ihren Ausdruck in Bildern mit ästhetischer Schönheit und raumfüllender Individualität, ohne Unterschied zwischen den Eigenheiten vor und hinter der Kamera. Der gegenseitige Respekt, die Annäherung an nonkonforme Lebenswelten zeigen sich im künstlerischen Schaffen und im sehr persönlichen Ausdruck aller Protagonisten“, erläutert Sibylle Baier.
Dieses künstlerische Arbeitsmodell stellt im Rahmen der bisherigen „Betreuten Tagesstruktur“ ein Novum dar. Im Spreefeld bündeln sich verschiedene Lebens- und Arbeitskonzepte, die von der Fotogruppe in Gruppen- und Einzelarbeiten fotografisch wiedergegeben und künstlerisch in Szene gesetzt wurden. Im Mittelpunkt der Arbeit mit psychisch erkrankten Erwachsenen stehen die Vermittlung analoger fotografischer Kenntnisse, die Entwicklung einer eigenen Ausdrucksmöglichkeit sowie die soziale Interaktion. Im gemeinsamen Prozess haben die Fotograf*innen sich den neuen Ort bildhaft erobert. Während zahlreicher Stadtspaziergänge sind Szenen des Alltagslebens, aber auch eigenständige thematische Reihen entstanden. Diese reflektieren die persönliche Wahrnehmung, den eigenwilligen Blick und autarke Perspektiven der Fotograf*innen.

Das Fotoprojekt Spreefeld ist ein Angebot der Pinel gGmbH. Im Rahmen des Projekts wird Klient*innen eine eigenständige künstlerische Ausdrucksmöglichkeit durch die Praxis des Fotografierens vermittelt.
The first official exhibition of the Pinel photo group shows artistic analog black-and-white photographs from the last one and a half years of work. Among the exhibited works are pictures from the portrait series with residents of the housing cooperative “Spreefeld” and the associated Teepee Land Community. Two of those pictures have already been billboarded on the exterior walls of the building of the housing cooperative “Spreefeld”. A series of very personal perspectives and scenes from the photographers’ everyday lives will be displayed as well.

The Pinel photo group has been working under the guidance of Sibylle Baier and Nick Grossmann in the buildings of the cooperative housing project “Spreefeld” for one and a half years. “At this location in the center of Berlin, we combine the social psychiatric work of the nonprofit association Pinel with artistic analog black-and white photography,” explains Nick Grossmann. “In the portrait series, the individual features served as a basic concept for the production, which was realized with a 4 x 5”Inch large format camera,” states Grossmann. “Inclusion finds its expression in pictures with aesthetic beauty and space-filling individuality, without distinction between the specific qualities in front of and behind the camera. The mutual respect, the approach to non-conformal worlds of life is reflected in the artistic creativity and the very personal expression of all protagonists,” outlines Sibylle Baier.

The focus of the work with mentally ill adults is on the mediation of analog photographic knowledge, the development of their own means of expression as well as social interaction. During numerous walks through the city, scenes of everyday life but also independent thematic series have been created. These reflect the personal perception, the arbitrary view and autarchic perspectives of the photographers.
The photo project Spreefeld is offered by the nonprofit association Pinel. As part of the project, clients are imparted an independent artistic opportunity to express themselves through the practice of analog photography.
